DARK HEART
She walks with her head bowed down,
Alms folded, hood n cap tipped down,
She never speaks unless spoken to,
Even then she answers in monosyllables,
Like she doesn’t want to,
Her feminity can never escape anyone,
She is the kind you could die for,
The kind to take a bullet for.
In agitation she walks with face so dry,
Behind her rare silly smile lies a cry,
Everybody assumes she is so shy,
And in whispers they ask each other why,
But, what they don’t realize is that appearance do lie,
For behind those deep empty eyes,
Is a past so dark,
A soul so trapped,
A tale so blurred,
A heart so dark.
She remembers that night,
When immense darkness swallowed the sins of the night,
As he walked away she pried with fright,
Lying down her innocence bled out,
He was a savage, beastly he feasted on her,
Breath out of her lungs, she struggled to her might,
If it was a chess he would have checkmated her,
For he overpowered her, so he did his deed.
Haunted by the dark memories of that night,
She walks with her head bowed down,
Alms folded, hood n cap tipped down,
She never speaks unless spoken to,
Even then she answers in monosyllables,
Like she doesn’t want to.
