The Master of Descriptions

If anybody sees Wairimu,

If anybody meets Wairimu,

Please tell her am sorry!

Tell Wairimu I loved her,

I still do!

Tell Wairimu it was all my fault,

I wasn’t there to defend her,

protect her pride,

to fight her battles,

I cowered under mother’s lesso,

Like a child, yet,

I cried when Wairimu left me!

Tell Wairimu my family called her a thief,

Yes! She was a thief,

Quiet and perfect; stole my heart,

I couldn’t grasp how or when,

Till I found myself crawling to her doorstep,

I had fallen!

I undressed her with my eyes,

In my mind I Played pornographic episodes of Wairimu and I,

All night I whispered in her ears,

“babe nipeeko!

I want more, give it to me!”

Tell Wairimu this,

my brother Onyango who forced himself into her,

Is no more,

I poisoned him,

I fed his carcass to our dogs,

Tell Wairimu I avenged her death!

If anybody sees Wairimu,

If anybody meets Wairimu,

Please tell her am sorry,

I wasn’t there to say goodbye.
