The Master of Descriptions

If I could change back time, just to do it all over again, I would. If it was merely possible that I could go back in time to fall in love with you all over again just to watch us make mistakes and wound each other’s pride, definitely I would. Because there are few good lessons we learn from our exes, and the ones I learnt from you are the ones that set me up for the adult life. I do not regret knowing you. I do not regret knowing that your favorite color was purple and indigo. That your favorite panty was the one that had my name engraved on it. Because I owned you; not as a property but as someone I was proud to call mine. I loved you. For the longest time I thought losing you could kill me, and yes, it nearly killed me. Turns out, dying was the best thing to ever happen to me. I lost you.

I was yours to be with only for someone else to end with. Years from now henceforth I’ll think of you as someone who taught me that love could easily be lost to the highest bidder. That sometimes during the highs and the lows we held each other in one another’s comfort. There’s no way I’m ever gonna see you again, I don’t plan to. With zest and happiness I’m grateful for meeting you. I’m a lucky guy, that you ain’t the girl that I will marry. That sometimes in the past you were the best selling book, and all the copies were sold, I was proud to have had you. The memories of you even though tiniest, will have been replaced by the sound of playing kids in the swimming pool, that she bore me. Or maybe mistakenly I’d name one of my daughters after you. To tell them that I once knew a girl like you. And now that girl is gone.

Happy Valentine’s, I hope that you find true love in the places that you sought it from.
