How do you write what people actually want to read?

I wanted to write a present poem

in the devilish dark of the night

when the daylight exhaustion had

taken a toll

and my flesh lay

resting

on the bed

i kept thinking of

the mortal coil

the machinery

of art

breathing

gasping

Grinding its barefoot

Trudging

leaving

footprints of erasure

Whilst wading through the murky waters

to find a rose of meaning

in the puddle of existence

where the sameness of everything

Grows stale

When the bones of curiosity

bend to its knees

And lacks the spontaneity

to find a reason

for it all

My eyes open.
